10. Never drop your guard. Always keep your fists up.

9. Always look your opponent dead in the eyes, they will betray him and reveal his next move.

8. If you make a mistake, don't do it again. The consequences are similar.

7. Never turn your back to your opponent. You can't see whats ahead of you if you're focusing on what's behind you.

6. Choose your battles wisely. There are always going to be opponents that you just can't beat.

5. Always fight a worthy opponent. You can't learn anything from a poor fighter except how not to fight.

4. Never believe you can't. The second you lose spirit is the second you've lost the fight.

3. It's OK to tap out. There are some fights you just can't win.

2. Just because you're knocked to the ground doesn't mean the fight is over. The ground is still part of the arena, learn to use it.

1. Always live through it. You will need to fight again another day.

It's 5am and I'm feeling odd.

This is a list I've made (all original) of how fighting and martial arts have taught me some of the greatest of life's lessons. Let me know what you think.
